When to use

Use when adding or reviewing sitemaps, lastmod, news sitemaps, or Search Console sitemap errors on any website.

What it covers

50,000 URLs / 50 MB uncompressed; sitemap index one level only
Google ignores priority and changefreq; honest lastmod only
hreflang via HTML, headers, or sitemap — pick one method
Fix Couldn’t fetch: robots, 404, server, or low crawl demand
